If you have Homevision try this  - as suggested by Craig Chadwick,
President
Custom Solutions, Inc. (a.k.a., HomeVision).

'Connect one wire to HomeVision input port C and the other to ground. 
Space
the other ends of the wires about 1/4 inch apart (perhaps glue them to a
small piece of wood).  If water bridges the two wires, it should make the
input port go low.'

It's another thing on my todo list!

If you don't have Homevision just get it - it's very very good-:)
