If only it were that easy just to move the families PCs from Windows to
Linux...
...I tried and both Jo and Edward simply refused to use their computers
anymore.
In this case surely you'd be best to reinstall them and then Ghost off an
image of the installation so that you can reinstall it again easily when
they manage to kill their computers again?
