[OT] F type TV connectors

I have just wired up my loftbox (in the lounge as I needed 6 of the 8
outlets there) and had to make a bunch of short leads from the loftbox to
the two twin tuner digital recorders. I just looked at them, scratched my
head and then stripped back the outer sheath, folded the braid back over
the cable and stripped the end so the core showed for a few mm. Finally I
screwed on the F type adapter. On attaching to the loftbox I bent the
centre core a smidge and that was it. All seems OK. Did I miss something
or is that the correct way to wire them up?
