RE: 'Inteligent' Heating Control

I mimic the "normal" Controller with Comfort controlling mains
relays for
both Hot Water and Heating. As such it uses the existing tank and room
thermostats at all times.

This gives me control via Telephone (to Comfort), Keypad (Comfort), Wall
Switches (Comfort Inputs), IR (Pronto -> X10 -> Comfort) and Web
(Homeseer -> X10 -> Comfort) for all the normal On/Off and +1Hr boost
functions. Timings are controlled by Comfort.

By far the most used feature is 1Hr Boost via Pronto in the lounge.

I was going to add the logic for "early start if b****y cold
outside" but I
never got round to installing a reliable external air temp sensor.

Subject: [ukha_d] 'Inteligent' Heating Control

I want to improve the heating & hot water control I have over and
above the standard Drayton controller I've got now. I'm not entirely
sure what I'm after but I'm thinking some kind of X-10 control of on
and off's which external temperature input (1-wire perhaps) to adjust
for when it's really cold.

I thought I remember someone on this group doing something similar but
no amount of googling will find it now. Unfortunately the likes of
Homevision are out of my league so has anyone got ideas / details of
what could be done PC/X-10/1-wire wise?

Thanks

Brian
