I only caught the results programme, and then only as because the TV was
on while I was doing something else. It exactly didn't fire me up to
tune in next time though.

I'm guessing your original problem wasn't content-related. Do you have
the box output plugged into anything else apart from the TV/video? (e.g.
distribution amp) If so, can you disconnect everything else and
gradually connect them back up one by one to see when the whining noise
starts again. Is there any difference between RF1 & RF2? (from what you
say I guess not, but I'll ask)

Is the noise still present when the box is in standby?
