Apart from possibly the map data you get with the unit....

there's a fair likelihood that if you buy a GPS in the US, it will be
loaded with US maps. - you may have the rest of the world on a CD in the
box to enable you to load up the correct regions maps, but then again
there's a fairly good chance that you won't, since manufacturers often
charge extra for the additional maps... Make sure you check out exactly
what maps are pre-loaded/included with any GPS unit you buy overseas.

Oh, and it goes without saying that you should check out whether the mains
charger unit is a universal voltage one, otherwise it might be 110V only,
and go "POP" when you plug it in at home... :-(

GPS should work worldwide so there will be no difference where you buy
them.
