You're supposed to take the yellow cabs from the airport. It's a fixed
price to anywhere in manhattan from JFK (not sure about the
other two airports) but you still need to add 15% for a tip. You'll also
see some black limos there touting for business, which
they're not supposed to - they're not regulated because I believe they're
illegal. Stick to the yellow cabs.

ATM machines work exactly as they do back home.

NY gets f*****ng freezing in winter. It's a very dry cold that bites when
windy. Check the weather forecast and wrap up warm!
