It's not just a disk size thing, either. I believe some newer ATA drives
(ATA-133, possibly ATA-100?) won't all talk to old IDE interfaces.
Certainly I've got an old AMD K3 box that can't see some modern drives
at all, even though they work on newer systems and old drives work on
the K3 motherboard.
