I etch the boards, but don't tend to drink the etchant when I'm done ;)

I guess there's a small element of risk, as you are using a corrosive
material, but it's not really any more dangerous than, oh, using paint
stripper - you have to ventilate the area, don't breath the fumes have
plenty fresh clean water on hand etc..

Nice price - I'm really only using in house PCBs as a way to build a series
of prototypes rather than building on breadboard: I seem to have terrible
problems with reliability on breadboard circuits, and spend more time
troubleshooting dodgy contacts than actually building circuits!

For making any more than 1 of a board, I'd certainly be using a production
house.
