Yeh I had thought about IR but was wondering if there were other options
e.g
rs232 control. In my (allbeit limited experience) serial control always
works and IR can be flakey although generally its not too bad.

I know Rod Stephens the Homevision Distributor here in Melbourne controlled
a Daikin air con with 5 heads using Homevision via ir zoning ........
