Re: Electric Ramp ?



I can't help with the ramp - which strikes me as expensive and fairly
hard to fit in a concrete floor but in a previous setup I had break beam
sensors that controlled a 12v light so that I could see when the car was
in enough to clear the door (which obviously was automated). I never had
the courage to automatically close the door as soon as the beam showed
the car in place. The only drawback is that multiple cars needed
different levels for the sensors as I was using ones that were only
about 3in high from Maplin.

I also thought about multiple of rising/rotating wooden posts that would
rise but couldn't figure out a way to safely build one that wouldn't
risk damaging tyres.

ps I'll get expelled from the list but I used to hang a bit of sponge on
a piece of string that I just drove in until it touched the windscreen.
That was a bargain.
