Remote site monitoring

Just thought I'd pick your brains - I'd like to keep an eye on my building
site, but have limited connectivity. By limited, I mean no power and no
web
access! I've been looking at the Nokia PT-6 camera
(http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,8764,72992,00.html
<http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,8764,72992,00.html>
) which looks
reasonable, if a bit pricy. It will run for a while off a battery, so I
assume I can rig up a car charger and a car battery and keep it going for a
good few weeks inbetween charges. Anyone seen or used a PT-6?

Any other ideas? I will get power on site within a couple of months, but
the web connectivity will be a while away yet. The site is about a mile
from where I'm living (as the crow flies), but there's lots of trees and
houses in the way, so I assume too much of a challenge for a wireless link?
I've already spoken to the neighbours, who I get on with, but not well
enough to use their band-width.

Ideas welcome!

Pete
