RE: [OT] iPOD Shuffle

The Bose accoustimass (sp?) are a good bargain; around 60% of the UK price.
The Apple stuff tends to 'only' be about 20-30% cheaper, unless you're a
state with zero sales tax. Still a barg though, and I managed to spend $2k
last time I was there, so who am I to talk! (not all for me though). BTW,
=
I
also got the Bose SoundDock for iPOD, which is pretty good, if you
want/nee=
d
that sort of thing.

So your going back tomorrow and getting the 1GB version for yourself and
letting her have the 512MB one?

Currently in the US with an Apple store not that far away (a couple of
stop=
s
on the T) and wondering what to buy...........

Yeh, OK leave it!.....Lucky they make those wrist straps nice and wide ;-)
That's two trips up and down Haytor next time for you Mr Harris!

Oh, I drove post a Comet so stopped in and bought a 512mb iPOD Shuffle :-)
=A369.00. Its really just a pretty pen drive! But hey its got an Apple
logo=
!
Its really the iTunes software though that makes it functional. You can
tel=
l
it to auto fill the shuffle based on a particular playlist, make random
selections from your entire library or you choose the tracks, it will even
re-encode higher bitrate AAC files down to 128 on the fly just for the
shuffle! Just kind of neat and well thought out, much like everything Apple
these days!

When I got home SWMBO said "I want one" so I've got to go back
and buy
another one tomorrow! I've already set up her playlist of inane pop drivel
:-)

Personally I would suggest that if it hurts then he finds somewhere else to
keep it...

...and it can't be very good for the iPod putting it there!
