Re: Fw: The great Sonos revoloution
It's a very standard method. When you have an account with say DHL or
Fedex or UPS you can send items anywhere and you just tick a box that
says 'bill me for all the import costs' - although more usualy its
'bill the recipient' ;-) . As he has an account with the shippers
HMC&E
get paid by UPS or whoever on import and then UPS get paid by him. You
can't do it without an account of course. When I bought the Squeezebox
graphic displays in then on the first shipment I paid all the costs but
as they had short shipped / and some didn't work Slim Devices kindly
sent me the replacements with the 'import duties/costs' billed to them,
and even better they gave me a return authorisation number allowing me
to use their shipping carrier and tick a box billing shipping costs back
to them - worked really well for me.
In this particular case though it seems the likely costs he will incurr
aren't covered by the extra he has added onto the price/shipping
although he may have a trade discount from Sonos to work with too ?

PS Still got a graphic upgrade display for a Squeezebox if anyones
interested ....
