The root question is why you want to shred.

Folks usually shred stuff because they want to lose the information,
and have a degree of certaintly that it cant be reassembled.

a) All liner cut shredders are a waste of space.

b) For a cross-cut shredder, the smaller the area of the cut bit the
harder it is to put the info back together again.

I have a Fellowes PS80C-2, which has been a good workhorse box, but it
produces shred that is (from memory) twice the size of the least
acceptable shredder for UK government use.

A good shredder is an expensive thing.
