Gents & Gals,
<Soap Box>
Total Telematics is me and anyone who reads Automated Home stories
would have plainly seen that. Whilst interested and encouraged by the
debate about any HA products, it is not my intention to try and topple
one thing in favour of another. Quite the opposite in that it is my
hope that the more toys we can bring to market, the more opportunity we
have to generate not just interest but open and exciting opportunities
for us all to apply technology. I am and remain a staunch supporter of
open source.
I would totally refute any suggestion implied or otherwise that there
has been any collusion between myself and any other person so let's get
that clear. This is not the first time that someone has brought
something to market that at least one of us recognises, is it a problem
that I am prepared to take the risk ?
I have an interest in xPL, SNAP, VSCP and a number of other protocols
one of which I borrowed from Keith Doxey and dubbed BloatFree and yes,
I have been working with VSCP for some time now (improving Ake's
english) and as I said to Kevin, my current interest is in a
Event/Decision/Action protocol but not one which is specific to the
boards on my site.
As ever, it is a free market economy and I totally agree with Mark
Harrison that what is right for one person is not necessarily right for
another but I can only hope that by working together, we all get
something that is right for all of us.
My apologies if I seem a little sensitive however I have put many
months into getting Total Telematics off the ground including not an
inconsiderable quantity of beer tokens so I do hope that you understand.
A developers forum will be available in the coming weeks so I sincerely
hope that the current interest does not wane and I for one will be
taking up David B's challenge to have the SBC do something useful.
</Soap Box>
Mark
