thanks for the help, the belkin doesn't have any visible circuitry so it
was
a bit trickier to work out but I found the right pin and it is working fine
now.

Had the same issue, I just bent it out of the way. Was a unbranded adaptor
tho.
The pin was the one where the solder pad went nowhere on the board to hard
to
mess up
