I asked the same question in here a few months back and good loads of very
good answers - check the archives around August last year. I was in the
same boat as you eventually replacing my 18 year old (!) Sony 26" CRT
with a
Sony 36" CRT. From the advice here and several viewings of different
sources I was convinced to go 100hz. It is Hz and not MHz isn't it? :-)

I'm looking as replacing my six yr old 29" 4:3 Panasonic TV with a
newer
widescreen model. Do I shell out the extra for a 100Mhz model or will I
not
really notice the difference? The TV is used for every day stuff (Kids
stuff,
CSI, SG1, but no sports). It's never live TV either as everything goes
through the TiVo.

It would be handy to have widescreen switching too but I don't know if the
TiVo supports this?
