Yes I think mine would. The noise output really depends on the settings. If
the fan is set to high, then it would be the same as a desk fan on full. If
it's on low, it's very quiet. I would have no problem sleeping with it in
the room.

Can you pass judgement on the noise output of these units, particularly
with reference to trying to sleep. Would your missus have one in the
bedroom?

I have the B&Q 17000 BTU unit. It works very well and cools my media
room
very quickly. It's easy to install and very easy to use.
