I too have been around the simple air duct units and totally agree with
John, I too went DIY, but with a commercial system direct from Hitachi,
Pictures here http://www.ptu.biz/gallery/AirCon

Since it wasn't installed until after the summer last year, it has only
been really used now. The units both inside and out are very quite. The
one in my office is now on 24/7 to keep it at 22oC.

We switch the bedroom on around 4ish and leave it on all night and the
lounge is on most of the day at the mo. All these units also out put
heat which I did use a bit last year as I can get more heat out then
electric in.

Best HA investment todate.

Regards,

Paul

Chaps and Chappesses

I have "proper" air conditioning, i.e. inside chillers and a heat
exchanger outside. This is the best type of air con there is.

I have done it in the past with vent type systems, but all fail - they
are not as good as split air con units. To save you wasting money, can I
point you to a DIY solution:

The first three units on the page.

Cheers
