RE: Re: Sonos - what's the point?

Option 5 - purchase the CDs you like, rip them.

For an extension of this - if you have a group of friends who all like
music, one of you buy a CD, rip it and share between friends the old
fashioned way - by lending the CD.

We used to download, but it was both slow and crappy (with the usual
concerns) - we then moved to this "record club" sort of thing
(there was an
attempt to do it on a grand scale by some ukha members, but it didn't
really
pan out).

Now, we do the same kind of thing with DVDs and CDs - with a decent group
of
friends with broadly similar tastes in music/film you can get to see/hear
pretty much eveyrthing you want - if something is good enough that you want
a high quality version for your very own, purchase the DVD/CD.

Just my 2p.

Ian.

so my 4 options seem to be

1. copy the purchased music onto CD and then re-rip, which should in theory
get rid of the DRM 2. use another service such as allofmp3 and then copy
the
songs into my itunes library - for my ipod 3. find some software to get rid
of the DRM 4. illegally download - which I stopped becasue it took too long
to find what I wanted, quality was crap and I don't fancy getting a legal
bill (read today's Daily Mail)

and then buy Sonos :o)
