Fw: Sonos and HomeSeer users here ?

One thing I would like is to be able to track the status of a zoneplayer.
For example, we have ceiling speakers for Sonos and I'd like to also run
the TV system through them (not using the Sonos line in). I'd like to use
a AV Amp and have 2 inputs - 1 Sonos, 1 TV.

If i can track the status of Sonos I can do AV switching. So say you press
"Play" on the Lounge Sonos ZonePlayer, we could detect this and
then
HomeSeer/xAP etc can send an IR command to the amp to switch to the Sonos
line input on the amp. We can already detect a TV IR command, so the
system could detect this and switch back to the TV line input.

Controlling Sonos would be nice (ie Away mode on Comfort then stop all
zone players, etc), but the one above would be a real gem.

When you say 'status' Gareth what particular aspect of the status do
you need - ? Is it just playing/stopped or a bit more (like what is
playing for example)..... I guess it may be just this ONOFF as you are
wanting automated input switching. Just thinking... I may be able to
get this to xAP via one of the unofficial Sonos dev projects that
provided a rudimentary web interface and from there of course it will
appear in HomeSeer using the free HomeSeer xAP plugin.

BTW A new software update was released yesterday for Sonos, and also
Roku, and the HomeSeer v2 public beta is out too
