Loads of displays do it.
1080p means that you have no de-interlace required, and thats the
shortcoming in
most displays. Add to that the many issues with having a subsampled chroma
channel on an interlaced source and you have plenty of room for errors -
Some
DVD players still dont get it right which is scary.
Its a shame that the HD products are still based on mpeg2 - a well overdue
for
replacement codec, and a fixed framerate. There is more then enough CPU in
any
settop box these days to interlace content and do the 3:2 pulldown or 48 to
50
field conversion depending on what you are displaying on.
