Refitting the bathroom at the moment. The toilet cistern is concealed
behind
a removable tiled panel with a flush system that is pneumatically operated.
Pressing the button on the front of the panel displaces about 50cc of air
which causes the system to flush.
There must be a way to automate this ! Of course there are commercial
toilets that flush when you walk away but they are a shedload of money and
don't quite do what I want anyway.
What I'd like is a touch plate or even better infrared/proximity sensor
that
looks like a touch plate with a range of say 100mm that when you pass your
hand over causes the system to flush. As to how to make it flush, maybe a
syringe that is operated by a solenoid ? Although it may be simpler to
replace the cistern with one that is designed for a lever and operate that
directly with a solenoid.
One final complication is the regulations re electricity in bathrooms -
everything it should all ideally be battery operated.
Ideas please !!
