Backing Up MP3's to DDS4

I have a DDS4 drive in my server and would like to run a routing to back up
my MP3's. The MP3 collection is around 55gb.

I realise I can easily run multiple tapes to back up parts of the alphabet
but what I would really like to do is have some way that I could get it to
intelligently back up the entire database in chunks over a few days. I
realise I could use append but I would end up with extra backups of MP3's
played since the last backup, I think? Or would the file have to physically
change to be picked up by an appended backup?

Not sure I have explained myself that well, but any comments appreciated?

Rob
