Hi Jamie, welcome to the group.

> Can anybody work out why this might be happening

I always found RF IR extenders to be the work of the devil! Working fine
for weeks, then stopping for no reason. Sun light can be a factor, as can
RF
interference from other devices (perhaps the new Sky+ box itself?)

alternative

Hard wired is the only way to go. If you have a coax between your sky+ box
and your bedroom then you can get IR extenders that will transmit over the
same cable. Alternatively if you can run a CAT5 or similar lv cable you
can
use that with the Xantech or Keene systems or similar. Hardwired system
are
100% reliable in my experience.

Ah, what do you use? VR software has a bad reputation here after some
spectacular (and amusing) failures at one of our gatherings :)

All together now - "Turn Off the Lounge Light"
