RE: big Consumer units

Thanks Dean,

The only reason I'm thinking about a new CU is that the X10 filter's
instructions shows a fuse/MCB for the supply to it, rated at 15A. These are
the instructions from Laser's site:

http://www.laser.com/files/tf678.pdf

Do you think it would be OK just to power it from an existing MCB supplying
another circuit? This would significantly cut the cost of replacing the
whole lot! ... or would it need it's own for some odd reason?

Thanks,

Paul.

if you mean single enclosure as in one rail then I think you can't get more
in an rcd/mcb arrangement.

You could go for a main sw only board with sp rcbo's for rings etc - this
would give you more usable ways.

If space isn't a problem double bank boards will give you 30 odd usable
ways.

Anyone know what's the biggest consumer unit you can get in a single
enclosure? I currently have a MEM 16 way split unit but need another way
(mine are all used up) for supplying an X10 filter.

Thanks,

Paul.
