There is one big benefit of SipGate in combination with something like
Asterisk.
Sipgate will give you, free of charge, a _geographical_ phone number
anywhere in the UK (subject to you being a UK resident.)
Hence, for me, having an 020 7 number gives the impression that I'm
central London based, even if I happen to be in Canada.
As you say, the "not online" issue needs fixing - but this is why
we
have always on connections plus Asterisk, which provides voicemail.
Our office move is happening tomorrow - moving out of Islington into
Liverpool Street. Once our network is in place, we'll be putting in
Asterisk/Sipgate as the primary "call receiving" solution!
