Alas, this is surprisingly common in arrays. The trouble is that, if you
build an array, you typically get your disks at the same time (yes, yes,
I know not everyone does - no need to write in.) This means that the
disks typically come from the same batch... which in turn makes them
relatively likely to fail about the same time.

I agree 4 hours is taking the mick - but about a week apart is more
common that you might imagine.


Oh, and perhaps the problem was that you had a "hot standby" when
you
wanted an "adequately cooled standby" :-)
