Re: X10 Status Reporting

Simon,

I have a set of macros that put the house into "secure mode".
When I
send the appropriate command to trigger the macro, the first thing it
does is flash one particular light on and off three times - this gives
me the confidence that it's started OK, so is useful for making sure a
macro's running when you go out.

The other possibility might be to use something like an eggnunciator -
this is a light controlled by a webbrick that can turn a different
colour when things happen (the demo at O2M8 turns pulses deep blue when
the temperature is below freezing outside, and pulses deep red when the
garage door have been left open.) I've been working on some webbrick
control code this week, so expect to see both a xAP connector (which you
could use with Homeseer or Harmony) and a native Harmony API (HAPI)
controller shortly.

relatively neutral on recommendations :-)
