I had imagined that the dell was fairly custom - certainly it has a custom
front with all kind of button on it and the back has fairly custom mounting
options.

Can you not just reuse the case and replace the bits?

Especially if you don't need newest and fastest?

Or is the Dell rackmount case a Dell special and hence hard to replace and
modify yourself?
