Paul,

Yes it is tied to Homeseer only because of its speech capabilites
and extra VB scripting commands it provides.

It does not need any email client running as I use an activeX
component to read the mail directly off the email server(s).
Existing mail announced is stored in a temporary database and is
compared to that on the mail server. If new mail is detected then
this is announced.

It can check an unlimited number of accounts.

As you don't have Homeseer, you will need to look elsewhere.
