Hiya!
Just to add another "couple o' p" to the pot,
fix your network card speed - if your switch can do 100mb full duplex -
then fix the card to that, according to some 3com guy - there is a
generic problem with the algorithm that works out the lan speed - as so
much as it 'can' take the lowest common denominator when things get busy
- 10mb hd - and not tell you that its done it. A reboot being the only
way to 'auto' detect again.

Loose the 'allow the computer to put this card to sleep' power saving
option on the card. It very rarely gets it right all the time.

I've also found that simply 'being in the room' often cures all problems
- with people saying 'it was defiantly going slow before I called you'.
How effective this will be with the rest of you guys :-)...
