Take a look at t-mobile's personal blackberry data only tarrifs - they
are astonishing! They currently offer unlimited GPRS data for GBP
10/month incl. vat, although it is not advertised as such. There is
also currently no surcharge for roaming! I *think* you can bolt on the
data tarrif to any other normal voice tarrif, but even if you don't
you can make and receive voice calls. Outgoing voice calls are charged
at 20-25p-ish /minute, but is effectively PAYG.

The October bill included a note to the effect that data would be
capped going forward (don't remember the size of the cap I'm afraid,
and that roaming would incur a 1 off GBP 7.50 surcharge for the
billing cycle in which it occurred) - however, this definitely hasn't
happened yet.

If you are a really heavy GPRS user, you might want to look at the 3G
unlimited tarrifs. When out of covereage, or with the SIM in a 2G
capable device, these will drop back to GPRS. If you shop around, you
should be able to get uncapped UK usage for between 30 and 40/month,
probably with a 3G card thrown in for good measure - Orange were the
most competitive last time I looked at this, which was a while ago.
