Mine does something slightly different sometimes after I've left it
charging from the PC it won't wake up and won't reset (play + menu), and
the PC refuses to reckonise it.

The only way to get it back in this situation is to charge it using the
car charger I've got (I presume a mains charger would have the same affect)
