Thanks for the replies - good to know its nothing terminal.

Mine spends most of its time in a USB cradle, and when actually listening
to
it without it powered up it works for quite a while, it just seemed odd
that
it runs down when switched off - but obviously thats normal..

I've uploaded all my photo's to it - about 6gig's worth - but i must admit
i've never looked at them since :) - i suppose in a way its a backup device
for photo's and music..

Mine does that also.

Dunno about that - I tend to leave it plugged into a spare USB port, so
it always stays charged.

Out of interest - do you actually use it for photos? I just use mine for
audio, and the only images I've got on there are the album covers.
