My solution to this problem was to get a DIN mounted KWH meter from
http://www.rolecserv.com/marina/index.html.
These meter have an pulse output dependent on usage. Couunt the
pulses and you can monitor the amount of power used in the house. You
can get them in 63A oe samller rating to measure different circuits.
