Didn't we come to that conclusion with the LCD TV in your bedroom ages ago
when I came over? It definitely latched your IR receiver on when you had
it turned on.

Yes ... slightly different though and the "CFL" (Compact
Fluorescent)
friendly IR receivers aren't as expensive as the plasma friendly ones. You
should find that a CFL friendly receiver will do the trick.
