The other thing about the slug is that there's a healthy hacking community
- allowing you
to run whatever you want on it with an OS compatible with the linksys
original or with a
completely fresh linux

I don't know about the linksys built-in backup facility, but just copying
an open file
from a windows share mounted onto the slug fails:

-bash-2.05b# cp -p pagefile.sys /share/hdd/data/public/backup/tmp/
cp: cannot stat `pagefile.sys': Text file busy
-bash-2.05b#
