I run a mixture of X10 and Z-Wave and although Z-Wave is awesome, it
does suffer from a severe lack of UK modules. You have your basic
Appliance module and lamp module and that's about it. The US units use
a different frequency and thus are not *much* use. I'm hoping they
will release something like the LD11 & AD10 but it doesn't look
promising so far :\

Also, if you want PC control, I believe only Homeseer has a USB
interface driver ? (Someone may correct me if I am wrong) so that adds
additional cost. You could of course just use the remote.

X10, although not perfect will probably suite a smaller project better
anyway.. it will certainly be the more cheaper option as getting
started in Z-Wave is far from cheap.
