Well, it seems my new CM12 isn't quite as reliable as the old one (which
did the do for a good 18 months nice and reliably).

I'm finding a set of modules go "blind" in the early evening, and
I'm
struggling to see the problem. As the issue only seems to happen from
about 8pm till 11pm, it's a bit hard to troubleshoot.

This is probably more of an electrician question than anything else, but
I am assuming that the cable length is playing a role here - the
"blind"
modules are downstairs at the front of the house, geographically
furthest away from the CM12 which is upstairs at the back.

I was thinking of adding a spur socket as close as I could make it to
the distribution panel for the house and puttingt eh CM12 there, with a
longer serial connection back to the PC (or an MSS100 down there beside
it).

Basically, I am thinking that the signal from the CM12 is too weak by
the time it has traversed the full length of the upstairs ring, then the
same again on the downstairs ring, and that shortening the cable path
would make the system more immune to noise sources.

I think I can add a spur from one of my dining room sockets - less than
a metre from the panel.

What do you guys think? Does this sound reasonable?

Ian.
