RE: [OT] Tumble driers

We make coin boxes and timers for commercial laundries. Our customers
are laundry round owners and we deal with most of the big Miele dealers.

One of the jobs that we have done is putting a wireless remote control
central paypoint system into some of the old colleges in Oxford and
Cambridge. The students have a chip card which they charge up at a
paystation which they use in the landry controller. The controller
communicates with each individual laundry machine via license free
wireless.

Because of the location of the laundry rooms, usually in the cellars of
these 500yo buildings they use condenser Miele driers. Also as the
laundry round owner is paying for the energy the extra efficiency is a +
factor. So from that experience I thik they are a good thing.

Its worth going to one of the Miele dealers direct for a price.

Try Mike Parkes, http://www.canddar.co.uk/ he's a
nice bloke.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Tumble driers
apologies for the OT post, but our tumble drier broke down last night
and
I've been despatched to get a new one *today*! It's used almost every
day
and I can't really complain about the current one as it's lasted ages.
We've always had vented driers but reading the reports in Which? it
would
seem that condensers are more efficient. But what a price though!
Their
top recommendation is a Miele at =A3800!!
Anyone care to recommend what they use and try and convince me to go for
a
condenser over a vent?
TIA
Malcolm
