Appliance micromodule and neon indicator problem

I recently fitted a AWM2 appliance micromodule in my kitchen...

The plan was to hang one of clipsals neon indicators off of it so I
could use it to display the status of my heating.

The problem is, even when it's off the appliance module leaks a little
bit of power, just enough to light the neon indicator.

Any ideas on how I can stop this?
