Fanless PCs and Geovision

One of the comments in the outhouse thread has reminded me of something.

The OP was suggesting that only the obvious tools would get taken in a
burglary as the PCs are hidden. Someone else suggested that they would
hear the fans.

Background:
Last year, before I discovered this list I bought a Geovision 650 card
and a Shuttle with an external power supply to hide in my attached
garage as it was convenient for cabling the cameras from the front of
the house, quiet away from people and in a fire-insulated area from the
rest of the house. I don't have a node 0 as such and if it was in the
house would be nicked with the other machines.

However sadly the Shuttle hung after a couple of days - the autoreboot
function couldn't be installed as there isn't the standard switch
connection for reset. It was very quiet and small enough to hide easily.

I got a large case (disk space was more of a requirement than I was lead
to believe). This is hidden (not very well because of size and space) in
the back of the garage behind some wood (still allowing ventilation.).
You can hear the fan(s).

Question:
Has anyone run a Geovision card on any sort of fanless system and had it
work OK. I've gone for quiet CPU coolers with variable speeds and quiet
PSUs but I would prefer fanless. Having the capacity to run an x10
automation system of some sort would be useful as well.

Thanks,

Simon
