available or can I maybe run another XM10U/transmitter to the workshop
consumer unit? Can I drive two XM10U's from HomeVision (splitting the TX
leads?). Will two XM10U's cause horrendous problems on the same circuit or
would I have to stik a filter in-between?

I would imagine 2 would cause problems, because ou'd have 2 units
trying to transmit at the same time, in which case I bet neither would
work, or you'd get the same signal twice as the two transmit very
close to each other.

What about movng the existing transmitter "closer" to the
workshop?
