RE: fao: everyone on list, and the mod's.

A common technique on some usenet groups (such as sun managers) is for the
person who asked the question to provide a write up of solutions and post
this in return. In this case were I to ask about how to mute iTunes on
receiving a landline call and 3 people responded it would be my job to
write
up a detailed edit of those responses and include [SOLUTION] in the email
subject. It would be neat if you could search just solution mails in the
archives too or something similar.

just a thought which requires very few changes to the current email list
etc
and means only those interested in the topic need follow the thread but
provides an easily consumed write-up for those with a passing interest.

thanks
kieran

p/s btw the my suggested answer to the question is xAP, perl and the iTunes
com object (and a meteor I would imagine).

aye, something v.similar

but, where you could ask questions and it would be answered (hopefully) by
anyone with again, hopefully, a creative solution ...

rather than waiting for a complete solution to be written up and posted, it
would be more 'real time' and interactive

in effect it would give the old age addage of more heads better than one..

wots tha reckon ? (said in my best northern accent..)
Jonathan.
