surprise, surprise.  Got round to connecting up the camera this weekend.
Wouldn't work with 7.5v. Wouldn't work with 9v.  Works perfectly with 12v
(which is what my other 2 work with)!  There is a sticker with
"8V"  on the
outside of the camera but goodness knows what that's for.  Thanks again for
your help.

Regards your 8 volt camera I would try the 7.5 I am sure that if you put
a volt meter across the PSU you would find that it kicks out more than
7.5 anyway, I am quite surprised the camera does not take 12volts.
