Sound idea, but in practice would be difficult to achieve.  If you have a
different device in each room, you need a different method of control. 
Some may only be controllable via IR, some may have xPL/xAP interfaces.  Of
course, if you used a bit of software that ran on your controller, and
activated the many different control mechanisms on the server, you may be
able to achieve it.  The only simple plug'n'play method I can think of is
if each player uses the same control method (be it IR, or xPL/xAP).
