RE: How can I use my MediaMVP better ?

This is something that constantly niggles me:

IMHO the best interface as yet with a decent TV out is still XBMC.

Both Medio and Xlobby also provide excellent front ends for a media server
but getting a decent s-video image appears to be an impossibility!

But, perhaps I'm missing something! In my 'simple' mind a decent TV output
(S-video or Composite or even RGB for that matter!) can't be that hard to
achieve with a PC? Isn't this what an X-box or Tivo does anyway?

How well do the latest line of XP Media Centres do from the major
manufacturers? Or do they suffer the same problems?

Many thanks,

Rob

It's not simple because the software is crap. I think the hardware can do
all that is needed (and pretty well), but it's let down by a slow and
clunky
interface. It really needs to run the menus natively, rather than by the
PC
server sending an entire image to be displayed every time a button is
pressed. I think I feel a rant about html-based interfaces coming on...

Having said that - I don't know of any player that is any better. IMO a TV
menu is essential - I don't want to search through 15000 MP3s on a 4 line
display!
