Hi Ian,
Thanks for your reply.
I hadn't thought of that. From what I can see the Sky Box is conventional
IR with standard SKY remote etc.
It is a Panasonic model TU-DSB40.
I was thinking that perhaps the cable run was too long, but cannot see
anything online about cable length limits. It is only running from the
lounge up to the loft (loftbox) then down to a TV in an upstairs bedroom.
Any other ideas?
Cheers,
Mark

Is your Sky box one that uses IRDA and not conventional IR? Some did or so
I hear as I cannot afford the time to watch pay TV so don't have one ;-(
Some manufacturers even had the same box some with IRDA and others with
'normal' IR
Try something else like a video to see if that works. If it does then
there is your answer. If it doesn't then more head scratching.

I use a SLX-8L 8-Way loftbox.
I got everything working some months ago except for the "SLX
tvLINK" IR
receiver units.
I turned on the SKY Box RF2 voltage output.
I checked that I have continuity thru the loftbox so that it passes the
drive voltage to the tv-outlet sockets to drive the "tvLINK"
units - and I
do.
In fact, the "tvLINK" units even flash when receiving IR in the
remote
rooms, so that shows they are functioning.
But the SKY box does nothing!
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Mark
